Marlo Rowland

Marlo (he/they) joined CIMA in 2024. Marlo has 10 years of experience in 501(c)3/nonprofit organizations in the arts, financial regulation, community development, housing justice, and policy advocacy. Previously, he worked in housing development and advocacy organizations, most recently serving as the Grant Writer & Manager for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville. This range of experience is what makes Marlo passionate about supporting diverse organizations seeking mission-driven results for their community and society at large. They are passionate about empowering organizations to achieve sustainable, manageable growth, while working towards ambitious goals for a greater social impact. Marlo received their B.A. in Linguistics from the College of William and Mary, with a concentration in sociolinguistics. They received their Masters in Social Work from the University at Buffalo with a “macro” concentration in nonprofit management, grant writing, community development, and policy analysis. He is based in Waynesboro, Virginia.
