Katie Straight

Katie serves as President of CIMA, drawing on two decades of experience in nonprofits, international NGOs, and social impact consulting. Throughout her career, she has focused on strengthening mission-driven institutions through stakeholder engagement, leadership and organizational capacity development, and data-informed program design. She brings an asset-based community development lens to her work, helping organizations leverage their existing strengths while building the systems and revenue strategies that support long-term growth. Her work centers on supporting leaders in building resilient, values-driven organizations that contribute to stronger communities and lasting social impact.

Katie holds a B.A. from the University of Virginia and a master’s degree from Harvard University. In addition to her role as President of CIMA, she teaches at UVA’s Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy. She lives in Charlottesville, Virginia, with her three children and their dog, Emma.
